This large Vietnamese species recently described but was in the market long before described as Amphidromus stungtrengensis but apparently being mixed up during description. Luc Segers, an avid collector of amphidromus species described it in February 2020.
It was described as having green whorls covered with longitudinal to rectangular yellow blotches, the black to dark brown columella, black re curved outer lip and the white and red subsutural band. Type locality is Dong Ram village, Thanh Nam Giang district, Quang Nam Province, Vietnam, living under tree among leaf litter.
