Named in honour of Mun Geum Mi, a Haenyeo (traditional woman free diver of shellfish) who collected the type specimens.

The main differences between the P. japonicus and this specimen are the numerous smaller peripheral knobs, rounder edges, higher spire (japonicus is flatter) and stronger ornamentations on the body whorl compared to the japonicus.

Normally bycatch when collecting the more delectable Turbo sazae. Seldom eaten, so hard to come by.
