This is an obligate rock-dwelling species that occurs in a wide range of limestone rocky habitats.

This species has been assessed for The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species in 2016 and is assessed as Near Threatened (NT) at the European and Global level since it has a very restricted distribution range. It occurs in the Bay of Boka Kotorska on the northern coast of Montenegro, where it is found in only two localities. Although no threats to the population have been detected, nothing can be affirmed due to a lack of information in this field.
