The current species thought to be givenchyi is what we now call, A. protania. However, expert consultation states that this may also be a junior synonym of the A. tanyai (will change it when I get further confirmation).
A. givenchyi is now known to be a Vietnamese species after all, hailing from K Bang in Gia Lai, a hotspot for amphidromus. It is found in the mountainous region and comes in both sinistral and dextral. It has the cleft lip (an uncommon feature in amphidromus species, famously in the rare A. bulowi), and the lip colour is variable; white, pink and dark purple (black). The periostracum looks very similar to the A. lucsegersi (West Timor species). Also, quite large species compared to what was thought to be the A. givenchyi before.
2 experts in Amphidromus have in the same opinion that this is the real givenchyi, however will put a cf. first until I get more verification.
