It differs from the Lambis truncata in having a thicker shell, a much longer spiral, nearly equaling a third of its length; with shorter spines; inner labrum in the posterior angle (liris 6-8), posterior labial lobe thick, strongly lirate (liris 7-9). The color of the opening and the lips is brown.
