This species is distributed in the Red Sea and in the Indian Ocean along Aldabra, Chagos, Madagascar, the Mascerene Basin, Mauritius, Mozambique, KwaZulu (South Africa) and Tanzania; in the Pacific Ocean from Papua New Guinea to Hawaii.
