Description

Caught by divers 9~12m deep Oct 2014.

Tip of the digits very slight nicks for the top 3 digits. One of the better specimens of this very rare hybrid. Usually found in the Philippines because of the shell trade hauling up millions of shells annually but also because very rarely elsewhere do lambis species are found to cross paths leading to such hybridization. Predominantly lambis crocata at the dorsum with the particular smooth digitations but underside, you will see a deep orange aperture with many dark lirae on the columnella and parietal wall which do not extend as far out of the aperture as in Lambis scorpius. One of the best!
