Conus vicweei – Giant 83.1mm, in superb quality and pattern for a fully adult shell!

80~100m deep. 2022. Extremely rare to get fully adult specimens in high quality with the tiny protoconch intact, and with no scars, full pattern and very thick lip with the canal flaring outwards. Juvenile and young shells of this genus similar to Conus dusaveli have very attractive patterns and colours and 90% of adults are still colourful but not as attractive as the juveniles. Finding an adult specimen with nice colour and pattern is a great challenge. This genus of piscivorous cones grow their shells thick and unlike many other conidae species, you can tell if it is adult or young shell by the thickened lip.  Therefore, finding a specimen that is fully adult + giant size + Gem quality + Beautiful colour and pattern is almost impossible.
