The rare Prampart’s cone from the Maldives, widely regarded as a variant of the Conus gubernator in the Indian Ocean. Like the Thailand cone (C. crocatus thailandis), the difference is the wide shoulders and typically glossy and smooth overall appearance compared to the gubernator. A very handsome shell, hardly ever available and when it does, doesn’t command the interest it should have due to it being considered only a variant of the common gubernator. For a cone collector, a must have classic rarity in it’s own rights.
