Ranging from Northwestern Australia from South of Depuch Island to Cape Keraudren and Southern Eighty Miles Beach. Habitat on intertidal clean sand.

Can be differentiated by A. macandrewi which has a different shoulder angle, a linear pattern of regular axial undulation with the presence of a line of sutural black spots. A. jamrachi which is small and has a lighter structure and a deeply canaliculate suture on the body whorl. A. Weldensis is close but has a grayish green background with high gloss, more regular wavy axial lines ending at the suture, forming a right angle towards the outher lip. Its suture is slightly impressed without the subsutural depression of A. ellioti.
