A species that live unusually exposed subtidal endemic to Oman. Was feared extinct as labels saying it came from Al-Masirah Island where there was none found but recent explorations discovered populations living around Oman with healthy populations. However, care must be taken that it is not over-collected as they are easy to obtain through the sandy mud-flats.

They apparently lay their eggs in empty bivalve shells and the parents guard their eggs. The young are with shell when hatched thus their endemic and localized habitat needs to be cared for (they don’t go through veliger stage). A beautiful species.
