self-collected near summit, under leaf litter in the forest, Aug 2019. As you find this species, you will notice that the main whorl has pittings; I suspect a form of camouflage as there is a level of predation of this species (see picture in the reference area). If you need further cleaning just brush it off and lightly oil it again. However, I would keep it this way.
