Description

Caught by Filipino divers. Some very minor tiny spinhole at the early whorls and minimal scarring for this size. In my recent trip to Kudat looking for Amphidromus adamsii, I like walking along the markets looking for shells. I came across this family that sells shells that they got from Filipino divers (illegal immigrants unfortunately) that caught them for food. They only display a few and I was lucky to speak the local language and they brought me to they home to show me specimens that they kept due to size and beauty. Unfortunately many were scarred even though with beautiful pattern and I just managed to obtain some selected specimens I choose for size, quality and beauty. These are a few. Those divers are long gone due to active deportation activities (it is very near to travel from South Philippines to North Borneo and many Filipino stay (legally or illegally) in Sabah). Please enjoy these specimens as they are not easy to come by.
