Description

Foot hills of Manurara, South Katikutana, collected on short tress, March 2017. This is an extremely rare species, since it’s discovery made by John Abbas only 20+ specimens have been found, mixed together with the A. sumbaensis which is for sure very different from this species. John found out that they actual got this new species from another locality but the locals just mixed them up as they could not tell the difference much. However, they are easily different to the keen eye, almost 50% larger than any sumbaensis and the early whurls are yellow and turning dark green (sometimes yellow) towards the main body. They are also almost patternless. Only common trait that they share is the purple lip. Extraordinary and beautiful species, very large for its genus.
