Shell large, reddish brown to light orange. Periostracum thin, corneous; shell surface usually with fine malleations on upper half of last whorl. Aperture almost circular with a shallow posterior angled groove. Peristome yellow, parietal declining shoulder absent. Lip thickened, broadly expanded, reflexed, with concentric margin.

Due to the proximity of the geographic distributions and similarity in shell morphology of the two species, Pollicaria mouhoti have long been considered a junior synonym of Pollicaria myersii.

However, Pollicaria myersii can be distinguished from Pollicaria mouhoti by an elongated purple to pale orange shell with thin periostracum, rounded aperture and very fine wrinkles on the dorsal part of the last whorl.
