Found from Taiwan till Borneo. Most specimens are found in the Philippines from tangle net fishing although strangely it is in the protected species list in the Philippines. It was in the 50 rare shells but it is hardly rare as it is a deep water species as most of the species in the genus. There are 2 forms known, a lighter smaller shell and a larger thicker shelled form.
