The Branched or Ramose murex, is a large and common species found throughout the Indo-Pacific and it is economically important as a source of food or as curios. Giant specimens can exceed 300mm and are usually white when adult. Young specimens may exhibit vibrant colours. It is one of the first species I have in my collection, purchase then by my dad and during my first fun dive experience, I saw one in Semporna, Sabah alive but I didn’t take it because it is not really big or special. A beautiful and showy species; especially my good friend Jom would say that they best ramosus comes from Phuket.
