One of the most iconic of all seashells, the Tiger cowrie (although the pattern is usually spotted not striped) is familiar to almost everyone that has been to an Island holiday. The tiger cowrie is found on the ocean floor in the Indo-Pacific region, from the eastern coast of Africa to the waters of Micronesia and Polynesia, the Coral Sea and around the Philippines. One of the most common species but many “special colours” & patterns are highly desirable by collectors. Having a nice set of tigris is also special.
