The “Bubble Cone” is a famous cone which used to be considered very rare until recently. With beautiful and very variable colouration and pattern, it is still highly sought-after by collectors today.

With a very wide distribution range ranging from the Mascarene Basin to Hawaii, it is a fish eater found from intertidal zone to about -240m in depth. Most specimens come from the Philippines where it is not uncommon. It is often washed ashore after typhoons, unlike closely related species such as Conus cervus Lamarck, 1822 which live in considerably deeper water and still rare. – Description adapted from Chong Chen
