The angaria family are marine snails that superficially look like turbinidae but has a trochidae like operculum. They are found from shallow to deep water, with a few recently described species and beautifully sculptured and coloured. Mainly herbivorous, without periostracum and usually heavily encrusted with coral and algae growth.
