A recently described species previously thought to be a subspecies of the linguafelis and known as S. gloriosus visayensis for a short time before being classified as a seperate species. Different by having longer tougher spines, larger in size and not the whole of the lower valve attaching itself to the substrate unlike the linguafelis (whole lower valve attached to the ground). Still a beautiful species and as difficult to pack as the linguafelis.
