Should be endemic to Central Philippines (the Visayas). Average 120~200mm. May grow over 240mm above. Often confused with T. zonata and long considered a Pacific variant of T. galea. T. zonata has a straight fasciole and very consistant structure of the spiral cords and more elongate shape. T. ampullacea has a broad and wide aperture, thin shell and wider and fewer spiral cords. Due to the strong twist the fasciole of T. ampullacea is short than T. zonata.
