The Southwest Pacific species is dubious as it is variable in spire and columellar callosity. Often referred to as Oliva funebralis but is considered to be a nomen dubium. Spire is low to completely flat, covered in general with a secondary spire callous which can be pustulated. The often dark filament channel is open only along the body whorl.
