The “Persian Horse Conch” is a large fasciolariid native to the Indian Ocean, with most specimens originating from Sri Lanka and India. A rare species until recent years and better known under the synonym Pleuroploca persica Reeve, 1847, today it is still uncommon. A predatory gastropod, it lives in shallow water down to about -20m. Average size 100~115mm, although occasionally giant specimens may exceed 130mm. – Adapted from Chong Chen’s post
