Known from the Arafura Sea, North Australia at depths between 200~400m. The largest and most colourful representative of the genus. In contrary to vernedei vernedei, the spire is less stepped, the aperture is slightly bigger and the spire whorls have an additional, narrow, often yellowish circular bulge. Operculum very large locking the complete aperture. Up to 95mm or larger.
